About Chadar Trek - A winter hike in Ladakh's Zanskar Valley is known as the Chadar Trek or Zanskar Frozen River Trek. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Zanskar river in Ladakh completely freezes over in the winter and is completely covered by a thick sheet of ice. Therefore, the blanket is called "Chadar." The journey begins in Leh, travels across the frozen Zanskar, and ends in the Ladakh town of Shingra Koma, which marks the official beginning of the trek along the frozen river. The Chadar trek covers a distance of 62 km in total.
